PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kent Brockman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Will Olson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Olson has chosen Bleed It Out- Linkin Park as his entrance music. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Will Olson was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kent Brockman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Will Olson!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brockman is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Olson.


It looks like Kent Brockman has been cut.
Olson cracks Brockman with an open hand slap.
Brockman misses with a jab, cross combination.
Olson lands a glancing blow to the side of Brockman's head.

Olson lands a left and a right that send Brockman crashing to the mat, dazed. Olson thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


Brockman is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Olson takes the fight into the clinch.
Brockman comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.


It looks like Will Olson has been cut.
Brockman has Olson pressed against the cage, preventing Olson from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Brockman lands an elbow inside that Olson shrugs off.
I was talking to Brockman's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Brockman keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Olson's efforts to push away.
Brockman misses with a hook to the ribs.
The referee is keeping an eye on Brockman - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Brockman.

Brockman prevents Olson from breaking the clinch.
Brockman is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Olson working hard to break the clinch.
Olson wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Brockman misses with the head strike.
Olson blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Brockman stalling the fight.
Brockman misses with a body punch.
Olson is trying to break the clinch but Brockman has him pressed against the cage.
Olson wants to break free but Brockman has control.
Olson tries to circle away but Brockman has him pinned against the cage.
Brockman is looking to control Olson's arms but Olson gets an underhook and turns him. Now Brockman has his back to the cage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Olson wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Brockman has him pressed against the cage.
Brockman lands a right hand that snaps the head of Olson backwards.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Olson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Olson manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Brockman won't allow Olson to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Brockman stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Brockman catches Olson with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Brockman rushes Olson and presses him up against the cage.
Olson wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Olson is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Olson blocks an uppercut.
Brockman slows down the pace here.

Olson jumps guard.

Olson kicks Brockman off and gets to his feet.
Brockman tries to clinch up but Olson circles away and keeps his distance.
Olson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Brockman circles away quickly and effectively.
Brockman is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Olson.
Olson blocks a low kick nicely.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Brockman looks to score with a jab to the body but Olson is just out of range.
Brockman misses with a wild body shot.
Olson avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Olson's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Olson duly obliges.
Brockman fails in his attempt to clinch.
Olson throws a head kick but Brockman moves out of range.
Olson throws a combination that misses
and Brockman counters with a three punch combo that has Olson backing up. Olson nods at Brockman to acknowledge the strikes.
A left lands for Olson.
Olson scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
A big left from Olson misses.
Olson connects with a jab.
Brockman takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Olson rushes Brockman and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Olson wants the takedown. Brockman is fighting it off but Olson persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Brockman's guard against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Will Olson dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Brockman throws a hook but Olson blocks it.
Brockman walks into a stiff left hand from Olson.
Olson throws a head kick that misses.

Olson lands a left and a right that send Brockman crashing to the mat, dazed. Olson thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Oh Brockman is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Will Olson seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Brockman misses with the body kick
and Olson counters with a monster hook and another for good measure! Brockman falls to the ground, out cold! Stick some heavy metal music over the top of that clip and it's one for the highlight makers!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:23 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Will Olson!
An intense looking Will Olson took to the microphone post fight and gave a little speech: 'This win has been one of the most important in my career. It has helped me step up my game and test my skills. Thank you to my opponent this time, and any opponent I face in the future'.
