Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Roosa Järviläinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maximov bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Maximov is looking to take a break and control but Jefferson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Jefferson tries to buck Maximov off but Maximov is having none of it.

Maximov lands a decent elbow from side control.

Jefferson throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Maximov stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Maximov tries to keep at a distance but Jefferson has taken the fight into the clinch.
Jefferson is leaning against Maximov and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.

Maximov walks into a jab.
A lazy left from Jefferson finds it's target.
Maximov is rocked!

and Jefferson counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Maximov! He's just covering up as Jefferson starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!

Geoff Jefferson is the new welterweight champion!
Geoff Jefferson decided to call for a title shot in his post fight interview, which was very strange given the fact this fight was for a title and he's already the champion. I guess that's what getting punched in the head does for you.
