The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sabonis takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Mattos seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.

Sabonis now looks to counter with a shot at the body.

Mattos throws an overhand right that lands on Sabonis's shoulder, as Sabonis tries to avoid the shot.

and Mattos counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Mattos throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Mattos sends Sabonis crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Mattos is motioning to the referee to let Sabonis up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
