Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Beezy James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and The Monk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James keeps the fight on the outside.
Horrible takedown attempt by James or perhaps it was just good defense by Monk, which made it look bad.
Monk closes this distance looking for a takedown but James circles away.

James closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - James lands in his opponent's guard.
James has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
James throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Monk works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Monk should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Monk is continuing to stall.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Monk is on top in guard.

Monk passes easily into side control. Nice work.
James is letting Monk control him for a moment.

James tries to buck Monk off but Monk is having none of it.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Monk has an Americana. James didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Monk is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Monk hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
