Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ed Landry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jaqen Hghar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Landry comes to the cage accompanied by Ride Wit Me - Nelly. Hghar has chosen Funky Polak - Pamiętaj as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hghar drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Landry wants to control but Hghar postures up.
Landry is looking to regain half guard here but Hghar keeps moving and retains side control.

Hghar is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Landry is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hghar is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Landry is just riding it out for now. Hghar eventually gives up the hold.
Landry is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Midnight MMA, so we'll see if he gets out of it.

Hghar is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Landry defends it well.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Landry looks to land a combination but Hghar avoids it well.

Hghar throws a strike aimed at the side of Landry's head but Landry avoids it well.

Hghar shoots in looking for a takedown but Landry manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Hghar's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Landry fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Hghar.

Landry displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Hghar.
Ed Landry has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jaqen Hghar.
Landry looks to score with a jab to the body but Hghar is just out of range.

Hghar closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Landry to the mat! Landry manages to get full guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Hghar wants to work for an arm triangle but Landry is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Hghar is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Landry still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Landry has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hghar tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Hghar is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Landry off and has taken his back!
Landry is really stuck here.
Well, with Hghar on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Landry is tapping out... Can he escape the position?
Hghar is not going to allow Landry to sit and survive in this position.
