The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mcgregor gets a double leg takedown into Smith's guard.

Mcgregor got a little sloppy there for a moment and Smith has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Mcgregor has managed to get both his arms back between Smith's legs - danger averted.

Smith tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Mcgregor defends well and Smith ends up having to push Mcgregor into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Mcgregor fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Smith sprawls well initially but Mcgregor persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Smith lands one or two decent shots to the body here. Although from his own half guard, he's not going to be causing too much damage.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Smith's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mcgregor scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Smith tries to close the distance and clinch up but Mcgregor swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Mcgregor! Smith is out on his feet! Mcgregor rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Smith is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Smith is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
