Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jackie Frederick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Young Blount (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Young Blount will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Emerson Jorge and Edson Gomes.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blount shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Frederick as he avoids it easily.
Young Blount seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Blount looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Blount throws a head kick that misses

and Frederick counters with a takedown into side control.
Blount tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
Frederick with the ground and pound from mount.
Blount working to try and regain half guard.

Frederick goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Blount is on top in guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Frederick pulls Blount in close to his closed guard and prevents Blount from doing any damage or advancing position.
Blount wants to control from the top but Frederick keeps moving.
Frederick has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Frederick wants to stand but Blount is controlling the position.
Frederick manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Blount manages to get himself to full guard.

Blount is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Frederick scores with a couple of nice shots.
Blount gets back to full guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Frederick wants to stand but Blount is controlling his posture from full guard.
Blount is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Frederick is controlling him.
Blount is wriggling around but Frederick manages to pass to half guard.
Blount wants to control but Frederick passes into side.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Blount gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Blount looks winded!
Blount tries to roll over but Frederick keeps him under control.

Blount looking for a kimura from the bottom but Frederick passes into side control!
Frederick lands a decent elbow from side control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Frederick looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Frederick slips into full mount, dodging the strikes by Blount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Blount gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Blount throws an elbow but it misses.

Blount's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Frederick throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Blount tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Frederick is in Blount's guard.
Blount is looking to stand back up but Frederick counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Blount.

Frederick is working for a submission of some sort.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Blount wants to get back to full guard.
Blount is trying to maintain the position but Frederick is very close to passing his half guard.
Blount is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Frederick scores with a couple of nice shots.
Blount moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Frederick could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Blount is breathing heavily.

Blount wriggles free and stands up.
Blount scores with a punch to the head.

Blount shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Frederick counters with a takedown into side control.

Blount throws a punch from the bottom, which has left him a bit exposed here… Frederick has an arm triangle now. This could be big trouble for Blount. He's out! He's out cold! The ref pulls Frederick off and Frederick celebrates with his corner.
