Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kirk Hale!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Conor McFegor!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Chris Saunders and Micheangelo Fripello.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McFegor fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Hale to the ground. McFegor is now in Hale's guard.
Hale wants to stand and escape but McFegor is having none of it.

McFegor drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Hale dives on top into guard.

McFegor is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

McFegor is working an open guard so Hale takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

McFegor closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Hale wants to get back to his feet.
McFegor throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Hale controlling the position well.

Hale kicks McFegor off and gets back to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Hale closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. McFegor did well to prevent Hale getting side control.
McFegor is trying to escape back to his feet but Hale uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Hale takes a little break here. McFegor wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Hale lands a few punches from side control.
McFegor prevents Hale from improving position.
You can see the frustration on McFegor's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
McFegor tries to buck Hale off but Hale is having none of it.
Hale staying calm.
McFegor takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
McFegor is looking to reverse the position.
Hale moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Hale is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but McFegor is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Hale is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt McFegor will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Hale is putting a hurting on McFegor here, landing some big shots from side control.

Hale is working to tighten his grip on McFegor's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. McFegor has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Hale is really squeezing tight and eventually McFegor passes out! Hale breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Kirk Hale!
