Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Gilberto Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Walter Flanagan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Flanagan has chosen The Wizard as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Flanagan throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Flanagan is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Silva.
Silva tries to clinch up but Flanagan circles away and keeps his distance.

Flanagan fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Silva, pushing him back against the cage.
Silva tries to land a knee to the head but Flanagan blocks with his arms.

Flanagan lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Silva wants to improve his position but Flanagan is controlling well.
Silva flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Silva tries to roll over but Flanagan keeps him under control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Silva has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Flanagan escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Flanagan!

Flanagan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Silva. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Silva is looking to control Flanagan's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Silva avoid being mounted?

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Silva is pushing Flanagan's head away, looking to escape. Flanagan manages to hold on to the position though.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Flanagan cracks Silva with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Flanagan scores with a kick to the midsection.
Silva tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
A head kick misses from Silva.

Flanagan drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Flanagan wants to control from the top but Silva keeps moving.
Silva can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Flanagan controls the pace.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Flanagan is posturing up here but Silva has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Flanagan tries to roll out but it's too tight and Flanagan has to tap! Slick submission there by Silva!

A very excited looking Gilberto Silva made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
