Coming up we have a middleweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Alexei Erschov and Ao Ki. Ao Ki has the eye of the tiger tonight.

In the red corner, competing out of St Petersburg, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 0 losses; Alexei Erschov! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Tokyo, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 0 losses; Ao Ki!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Shirou Masuda and Ren Mimura.


The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.

Erschov clinches up with Ki and pushes him back against the cage.
Ki stops a takedown attempt from Erschov.
Erschov jumps guard but Ki turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Erschov is trying to drag Ki to the mat but Ki just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Ki tightens his grip and picks Erschov up, before dumping him to the ground. Erschov manages to land in guard.

Ki told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.

Ki drops back looking for a leg! Erschov is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Erschov manages to kick Ki off! Ki jumps back into Erschov's guard.
Erschov could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Ki is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Erschov pulls his head out easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Erschov is looking for a kimura but Ki is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Erschov to get the leverage.

Erschov is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Ki has his foot on Erschov's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Erschov works his way back into a safe position though.

Ki has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Erschov can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Erschov stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ki swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Ki has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Erschov is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Ki.
