The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Medina tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Miocic manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Miocic lands a big uppercut and Medina crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Medina looks OK. Miocic waves Medina back to his feet!

Medina is rocked!

It looks like Deandre Medina has been cut.

Medina tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Miocic is trying to push Medina away but Medina has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Miocic has picked Medina up - he's going for a ride! Miocic dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Miocic seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Medina does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Miocic feints and as Medina raises his hands in defense, Miocic changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Medina will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
