Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Noam Chomsky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kaice Gunn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chomsky comes to the cage accompanied by System Of A Down BYOB. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 27 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Noam Chomsky!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 26 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kaice Gunn!
The judges for this bout are Topper Green, Chris Dean and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chomsky lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Gunn doesn't manage to clinch there - Chomsky circles away.
Gunn misses with a wild combination.
As Gunn tries to get set, Chomsky tries to push him back and clinch up but Gunn manages to avoid the attempt.

Gunn closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Chomsky did well to prevent Gunn getting side control.

Chomsky got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gunn has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Chomsky has managed to get both his arms back between Gunn's legs - danger averted.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Chomsky throws out a leg kick but Gunn moves out of range and Chomsky only half commits.
Gunn connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Gunn fails with the takedown.
Chomsky throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Chomsky displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Gunn throws out the jab.

Gunn looks to land a left hand but Chomsky moved out of range nicely.

As Gunn tries to get set, Chomsky tries to push him back and clinch up but Gunn manages to avoid the attempt.
Chomsky takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Gunn misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
It looked like Chomsky was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Gunn throws a shot to the body.

Gunn closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Chomsky to the mat! Chomsky manages to get full guard.
Gunn wants to get up but he can't break Chomsky's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Chomsky can't keep his opponent in guard - Gunn advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Gunn looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Chomsky with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Chomsky is refusing to be controlled, as Gunn sits in half guard.
Chomsky is looking to control Gunn's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Chomsky avoid being mounted?

Chomsky is looking for a sweep. Gunn is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Gunn slips a nice elbow through Chomsky's hands, connecting with Chomsky's forehead.

Gunn is stalling here. Chomsky is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Gunn seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Chomsky has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Gunn tries to bench press Chomsky off him but Chomsky keeps the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gunn wants to clinch up but Chomsky keeps it at a distance.

Chomsky tried to counter with a leg kick but Gunn avoided it.

Gunn will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Gunn tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Chomsky defends well and Gunn ends up having to push Chomsky into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Gunn closes the distance and clinches up with Chomsky, looking for a takedown. Gunn pushes Chomsky against the cage but Chomsky circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Chomsky, as that shot connected.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Gunn checks a leg kick.

Gunn decides to stand back up. Gunn steps back and let's Chomsky get back to his feet.
Gunn catches Chomsky with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Gunn changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Chomsky looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Gunn has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

I've got Gunn winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Kaice Gunn decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
The defeated Noam Chomsky had this to say: 'If we don't believe in freedom of expression for people we despise, we don't believe in it at all.'.
