The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gordon doesn't manage to clinch there - James circles away.

James takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Gordon tries to bum rush James with a series of wild strikes but James uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
James takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Gordon uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by James.
James takes one to the chin there.
James takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

That has opened up Gerrald James's cut even more.
Gordon lands a leg kick that knocks James off balance momentarily.
Gordon closes the distance looking to clinch
and James counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
James chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Gordon can pounce on him.

and James counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Mel Gordon's cut is getting worse.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
James takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
James slips a jab and a cross from Gordon.

Gordon slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

James ducks down and throws a big overhand right - it lands flush on the jaw, knocking Gordon out cold! The fight is over!
