The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hughes feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Fear's calf.

Fear clinches with his opponent.
Fear pushes off an throws an elbow but Hughes leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Hughes lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Hughes lands a right hand that snaps the head of Fear backwards.
We've been informed that Hughes has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

That kick from Hughes tenderised Fear's leg. Fear is trying to keep his angry face on.

A nice side step and Hughes releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Hughes throws a leg kick which misses Fear's front leg but catches the back leg as Fear tries to avoid it.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hughes connects with a good right hand that stumbles Fear. Fear circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
