The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Whitehurst has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

It looks like Golshan Whitehurst has been cut.
Lewis takes a swing at Whitehurst's ribcage but misses.

Whitehurst closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Whitehurst lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Lewis down.
The strikes coming from Whitehurst are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Whitehurst takes a little break here. Lewis wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Whitehurst has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Lewis is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Whitehurst yanks on the arm and Lewis is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Whitehurst.
