Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jake Obrien (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Paul Jones told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Paul Jones!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Skip Squint and Winston Howard.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Obrien shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Jones kicks off Obrien and gets to his feet.
Obrien throws a front kick that sends Jones stumbling back into the cage.
Jones misses with a hook. Obrien ducked under it nicely.

Oooooh!!! Jones has knocked Obrien down with a huge combo! Jones steps away and waves a wobbly Obrien back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Obrien is rocked!

It looks like Jake Obrien has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Jones Throws a clean left jab. Jones Twirls his body and connects with a Spinning Back Fist that connects flush with Obrien's chin! Obrien crumbles to the ground and Jones follows up with some unanswered strikes. It's all over!! Nice standup skills displayed by Jones!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Paul Jones!
A relieved looking Paul Jones thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
