Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Alexander Potter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Scarn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alexander Potter has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alexander Potter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Michael Scarn!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Robert Twigg and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Scarn slips under a jab.
A jab lands there for Potter.
Potter lands an overhand right.
Scarn scores with a punch to the head.
Scarn slips under a jab.
Scarn swats away the attempt to clinch by Potter.
Scarn fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Potter changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Scarn throws a shot from downtown. Potter moves away and avoids it.
Potter scores with a jab. Scarn acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Potter cracks the inside of Scarn's front leg.
Scarn throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Potter on the side of the head.
Scarn throws a big shot that misses.
A swing and a miss from Scarn.
Scarn looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Scarn defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Potter.
Scarn takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Potter slips a jab and a cross from Scarn.
Potter drops down looking for a counter takedown but Scarn sprawls and moves away.
Scarn works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Scarn missing with a left hand there. Potter was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Potter bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.

Potter avoids a punch combination nicely.
Scarn misses with a jab, cross combination.
Potter looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Scarn is fending him off so far but Potter persists. Nope, Scarn circles away and we're back to standing.

Potter drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Scarn pushes Potter off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Potter swings for the body but Scarn moves out of range.
Michael Scarn is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Horrible takedown attempt by Potter or perhaps it was just good defense by Scarn, which made it look bad.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alexander Potter. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Scarn cracks Potter with a good jab.
Scarn takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Potter closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Scarn sneaks out the side door and pushes Potter away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Scarn leaves Potter with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Potter tries to close the distance and clinch up but Scarn swats him away and circles back towards the center.
It seemed like Scarn was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Scarn lands a lovely overhand right.
Scarn circles away from the clinch attempt.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Scarn! But no joy.
Potter moves out of range of the strikes.
Potter misses with a few strikes there.
Potter throws a solid leg kick but Scarn takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Potter.
Potter with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Scarn to score with a decent uppercut.
Scarn lands with an overhand left.
Scarn dips to his left and cracks Potter with an uppercut!

Potter shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Potter was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Scarn tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Scarn prevents Potter from getting a body triangle.
Potter is really struggling to control Scarn but he's trying to hold on to the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Scarn is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Scarn trying to control the position but Potter manages to sink in the hooks.

Scarn staying busy and making it hard for Potter to control.

Potter tightening his grip on Scarn, looking for the choke.

Potter is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Scarn has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Potter wants to control but Scarn manages to buck him off and is now in Potter's guard! Nice work there by Scarn!
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Scarn is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Potter is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

It looked like Potter wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Potter cracks Scarn with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Potter shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Scarn manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Scarn is wriggling around but Potter manages to pass to half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

We've been hearing good reports from Potter's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Potter sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Scarn's guard.

Potter is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Scarn still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Scarn has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

That was a close second round but I would say that Alexander Potter will probably get the nod.

Scarn takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Potter connects with a looping right hand.

Scarn bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!

Potter changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Scarn tries to avoid it but Potter manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Scarn to the ground. Scarn escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Scarn throws a looping overhand right but Potter ducks down to avoid it.

Potter cracks Scarn with a right hand to the side of the head.

Scarn lands with a hook. Potter tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Potter swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Scarn throws out a counter right but Potter avoids it with no problem.

Potter uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Scarn.
Scarn throws a right and a left that both miss.
Scarn lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Scarn loads up on a big right hand but Potter slips the punch.
Potter closes the distance and clinches up with Scarn, looking for a takedown. Potter pushes Scarn against the cage but Scarn circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Potter throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Scarn was covering up waiting for the punch and Potter finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Potter wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Scarn, who protects the arm well.
Potter sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Scarn is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Potter throwing strikes but Scarn manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!

Potter is pressing down on Scarn's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Potter looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Scarn advances to half guard.
Potter is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Michael Scarn.
Well Scarn has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

A less than humble Michael Scarn misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
