Rembrandt comes into the arena with "We will rock you" by Queen blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Edson Gomes and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ellis connects with the punch.

Rembrandt closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Rembrandt with the ground and pound but Ellis uses the opportunity to regain guard.

Rembrandt trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Rembrandt wants to pass the guard but Ellis is keeping the position.
Rembrandt is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Rembrandt stands up over Ellis, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Rembrandt prevents Ellis from getting back to his feet.
Rembrandt with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Rembrandt's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Rembrandt works over Ellis with some ground and pound from guard.
Rembrandt content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ellis utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Rembrandt is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Rembrandt is looking to work some ground and pound but Ellis has wrist control.

Ellis wriggles free and stands up.
Ellis throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Rembrandt counters with a single leg into guard. Ellis didn't expect that.
Rembrandt lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Rembrandt postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Rembrandt is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Rembrandt connects with a couple of short punches.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Rembrandt accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Ellis has momentary wrist control but Rembrandt slips an elbow through the middle.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Rembrandt shoots in for a takedown but Ellis shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Ellis moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Ellis misses with a jab, cross combination.
Rembrandt shoots in but no luck this time.

Ellis closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Rembrandt! Ellis dives in looking to finish! Rembrandt is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
