The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown attempt by Cartwright or perhaps it was just good defense by Hjelmslev, which made it look bad.
Cartwright has been working on his balance at Irish Collar & Elbow Academy, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Hjelmslev.

Cartwright darts in looking for a takedown but Hjelmslev gets double underhooks and turns Cartwright into the cage.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hjelmslev is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Hjelmslev throws a perfectly timed hook that sends Cartwright crashing down! Cartwright tries to stagger back to his feet but Hjelmslev just hammers him until the ref stops the fight! A confused Cartwright asks the ref what just happened. Poor fella.
