Johnson is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Ain't No Sunshine (DMX). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Denis Carpenter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Chris Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Phil Schofield and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson dives in and grabs Carpenter's left leg, looking for a takedown. Carpenter pushes down on Johnson's head and hops out.
Carpenter tries to clinch up.
Johnson has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Carpenter is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Johnson lands with a nice combination. Carpenter backs away looking to recover.
Carpenter fails in his attempt to clinch.
As Carpenter backs off Johnson throws a huge counter combo but Carpenter manages to avoid it all.

Carpenter instigates a clinch.
Johnson can't get the takedown.

Johnson is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Carpenter can't fight it off and eventually Johnson manages to take the fight to the floor. Carpenter looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Johnson throwing strikes from guard but Carpenter blocks nicely.
Johnson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Carpenter swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Johnson trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Carpenter looking for a guillotine here but Johnson defends easily.
Carpenter keeping full guard, as Johnson tries to pass.
Johnson postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Carpenter seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Johnson passes Carpenter's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Carpenter pushes Johnson off looking to stand but Johnson dives back in and keeps control.
Johnson lands with a punch from half guard.
Johnson scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Johnson throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Johnson lands a nice short elbow.
Carpenter taking some punishment here, with Johnson in his half guard.


Carpenter is rocked!
Carpenter is trying to control but can't.
Johnson scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Oh Carpenter is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Johnson passes to side control.
Johnson lands a strong strike to the head of Carpenter. That's dazed him! Johnson looking to finish here. Carpenter is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Johnson lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Chris Johnson!
Chris Johnson decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
