Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Delmer Lawson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Richard Anderson!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Felipe Paraventi and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Anderson closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Anderson lands in his opponent's guard.
Anderson postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Lawson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Anderson is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Lawson reaches up to try and control the position but Anderson seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Lawson rolls and tries to escape and now Anderson has his back!
Lawson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
I really don't envy Lawson right now.
Anderson is trying to stick to Lawson's back but Lawson is turning into Anderson. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Anderson's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Lawson.

Anderson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Lawson defends it easily.

Lawson decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Anderson, up you get!

Anderson shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Lawson's guard.

Lawson manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Anderson is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Lawson can't fight it off and eventually Anderson manages to take the fight to the floor. Lawson looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Anderson is trying to control the action in half guard but Lawson is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Well Anderson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
