Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Jonathan Paton and Russell Pearce.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCray shoots in and drives through. Ling sprawls well.
Ling is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
McCray throws a half hearted mid kick.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Ling, right into the meat.

and Ling counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

and Ling cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

McCray shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Ling sprawls well. Ling wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. McCray gets slowly back to his feet.

Ling is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Ling connects with a nice short shot to McCray's temple.
McCray tries to kick Ling off but Ling keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

McCray on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if McCray tries to get out of the position.

McCray has hold of Ling's hands but Ling slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
McCray might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Ling looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
McCray is trying to stand up here but Ling is controlling him well.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Ling lands a nice short elbow.

Broa Ling dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Ling throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. McCray was covering up waiting for the punch and Ling finishes the takedown easily into guard.
McCray is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Ling dives into side control.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

McCray tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.

Ling with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

You get the feeling that McCray really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Ling has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Ling is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, McCray has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Ling won't let McCray get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
Ling has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A nice elbow there by Ling.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McCray's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Ling takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

McCray knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ling on the ground.
BOOM! Ling connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Ling has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of McCray's face.
Oh McCray is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Ling lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
