Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between James Solis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Berahthraban Yechezkel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, James Solis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Berahthraban Yechezkel!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Daniel Blasius and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Yechezkel closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Yechezkel lands in his opponent's guard.

Solis manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Yechezkel pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Solis gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Solis tightens his grip and picks Yechezkel up, before dumping him to the ground. Yechezkel manages to land in guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Yechezkel looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Yechezkel wants to sweep but no luck.

Yechezkel seems keen to control Solis's posture.
Yechezkel is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Yechezkel is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Yechezkel walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Solis throws a head kick but Yechezkel moves out of range.

Solis darts in and clinches Yechezkel up against the cage.

Yechezkel seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Yechezkel has his hands on Solis's head, controlling the position.

Yechezkel wants to sweep here but Solis controlling him for the moment.
Solis wants to control from the top but Yechezkel keeps moving.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Solis instigates a clinch.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Solis drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Solis tries to pull guard but Yechezkel won't allow it.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Yechezkel drags the fight down to the ground.
Yechezkel is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.


Yechezkel is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Yechezkel seems to be working for a kimura but Solis defends the submission attempt.

Yechezkel is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Solis sees it coming and defends easily.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Solis tries to roll over but Yechezkel keeps him under control.
Solis is looking to control Yechezkel's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Solis avoid being mounted?
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that James Solis will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


A head kick misses from Solis.
Yechezkel tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
James Solis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Solis shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Yechezkel defends it nicely.

Yechezkel gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Solis to score an easy takedown into full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Yechezkel is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.


Yechezkel is trying to work for a kimura but Solis is defending well.

Yechezkel seems to be looking for submissions.
Yechezkel perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Yechezkel is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Solis reverses the position - he's now on top in Yechezkel's guard.
Solis won't allow Yechezkel to sweep him here.

Solis has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Yechezkel is proving hard to escape from.
Yechezkel wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Yechezkel's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Solis is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Yechezkel has managed to free his arm - good work.
Solis is thwarting Yechezkel's attempts to control the position.
Yechezkel is doing well to control the position and prevent Solis from advancing to side control.
Yechezkel is looking for a sweep. Solis is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Yechezkel regains full guard. Nicely done.
Yechezkel looking to hit a scissor sweep but Solis is one step ahead there.
Yechezkel has control of Solis's left arm, preventing Solis from doing any damage.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Solis fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Yechezkel moves into range and clinches up with Solis.

Yechezkel has hold of one of Solis's legs. Solis is fighting the takedown attempt but Yechezkel gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that James Solis will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Yechezkel stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Yechezkel wants it to stay on the feet.
Solis tries a head kick but it misses.

Yechezkel is trying to trip Solis. He has hold of a leg but Solis is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Yechezkel persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Berahthraban Yechezkel has got the better of the ground game so far.
Yechezkel pushes down on Solis's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Yechezkel has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Solis defend it? Yechezkel steps over the head and cranks it - Solis is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Yechezkel!
