Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Chas Coleman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Irving Sokolsky!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Mauricio Rocha and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sokolsky takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

My spies in Cozad MMA Rio inform me that Sokolsky has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Sokolsky enables Coleman to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Sokolsky manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Coleman is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Sokolsky is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Sokolsky has escaped and now he's on top!


Coleman has his foot on Sokolsky's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Sokolsky works his way back into a safe position though.

Coleman seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Sokolsky for as long as he can get away with.

That was a close second round but I would say that Chas Coleman will probably get the nod.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Coleman, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
