Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Terrence Bailey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Jason Campbell!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Skip Squint and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Campbell clinches with his opponent.
Bailey tries to pull guard but Campbell won't allow it.

Campbell breaks the clinch.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Bailey is defended easily by Campbell.

Bailey rushes Campbell and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Campbell breaks the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Campbell throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Campbell pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Bailey dives in for a single leg takedown but Campbell sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Terrence Bailey. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bailey dives in and grabs Campbell's left leg, looking for a takedown. Campbell pushes down on Bailey's head and hops out.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Campbell throws a sloppy head kick and Bailey moves out of range easily.
Bailey swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Campbell pulls out of a head kick attempt.

and Bailey connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Campbell clinches.
Campbell is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Bailey tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Campbell smiles and moves away.
Jason Campbell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Campbell misses with a looping right.

Campbell feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Bailey throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Bailey throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Campbell scoring with some ground and pound.

Campbell got a little sloppy there for a moment and Bailey has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Campbell has managed to get both his arms back between Bailey's legs - danger averted.
Bailey wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Campbell manages to pass to side control.

Campbell escapes and gets back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Campbell has managed to clinch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Bailey takes an elbow to the forehead.
Campbell is leaning against Bailey and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.

Campbell successfully pulls guard.

Campbell has his foot on Bailey's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Bailey works his way back into a safe position though.
Campbell avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Bailey drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Campbell manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Bailey has Campbell in his guard.

Bailey is breathing heavily.
Campbell seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Campbell is standing up over Bailey. Bailey looks to escape but Campbell dives into side control.
Campbell wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bailey keeps working.
Campbell slows the pace down.

Campbell tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Campbell has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Bailey tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Campbell wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Campbell scores with punches from side control.
Bailey knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Campbell on the ground.
Bailey takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Campbell working the body and head with strikes.

Campbell thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Bailey on the wrong end of some ground and pound.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Campbell prevents Bailey from escaping the position.
Bailey takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.


Bailey is rocked!
Campbell scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Bailey is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Campbell can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jason Campbell!
