Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 32 - 16 - 3, fighting out of New York, Jim Beckett!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 19 - 0, fighting out of London, Jacob Koch!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Richard Clark and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Beckett misses with a lunging right hand
and Koch counters with a straight right hand.
Koch tries to clinch up.
Beckett scores with a jab.
Jab, jab by Beckett - just one landing.
Beckett misses with an uppercut.
Koch now looks to counter with a shot at the body.

Beckett feints and as Koch raises his hands in defense, Beckett changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Koch preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Koch wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Koch has Beckett pulled in close to control his posture.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Beckett is trying to control the position but Koch postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Let's hope that Koch has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Beckett has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

Koch throws a head kick but Beckett moves out of range.
Koch throws a chopping leg kick but Beckett manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Koch is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Beckett ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Koch moves away.
Koch on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Beckett. Beckett obviously looking to wear him down.
Beckett lands with a hook. Koch tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Koch will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Beckett tries to counter with a takedown but Koch is quick to defend against it.

Beckett lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Beckett feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Koch's calf.
Koch steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Beckett.

Beckett stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

That kick from Koch tenderised Beckett's leg. Beckett is trying to keep his angry face on.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

That was a close second round but I would say that Jim Beckett will probably get the nod.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jim Beckett.
Well Beckett has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
