Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jan Kriel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jose Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kriel comes into the arena with Fokofpolisiekar - Fokofpolisiekar blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva throws a head kick that misses.
Kriel misses with a straight right.

It looked like Kriel was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Silva shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Silva working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
Silva is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Kriel can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Silva postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Kriel badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Silva around the waist but Silva pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Silva is the winner by TKO! Silva jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"
