Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jackie Frederick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carlos Mms (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Mauricio Rocha and Luis Engracia.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mms forces Frederick back against the cage and clinches.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
Mms changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Frederick fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Mms shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Mms tries to sprawl but Frederick drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Mms wants to stand back up but Frederick manages to pass into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mms tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Frederick wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Frederick's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Frederick shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Mms napping and manages to drive through into side control!

This has been an exciting period of action!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Mms wants to lay and pray for a moment but Frederick keeps working.

Frederick is pulling down on Mms's head. It's preventing any offense from Mms, at least for the moment.
Frederick thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Mms changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Frederick tries to avoid it but Mms manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Frederick to the ground. Frederick escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Mms throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Frederick's waist but Frederick gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mms off to one side.
Frederick swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Mms is breathing heavily.

Mms wriggles free and stands up.

Frederick throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Mms tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Frederick is in Mms's guard.

Frederick closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Mms wants to improve his position but Frederick is controlling well.

Frederick is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Mms doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Frederick.
Mms is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Frederick scores with a couple of nice shots.

Mms wants to get back to full guard but Frederick has passed into side control.
Mms tries to bench press Frederick off him but Frederick keeps the position.

Frederick is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Mms has escaped the position, nice work there.
Mms tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Frederick presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

A close second round but Carlos Mms will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's time! Frederick's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

The fighters are working up against the cage. Mms manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Mms jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Frederick walks away with a smile on his face. Mms gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Mms is trying to drag Frederick to the mat but Frederick just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Frederick is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Frederick will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Mms up against the cage.

Frederick pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

and Frederick counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Frederick.

Frederick escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Mms shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Frederick as he jumps to the side.
Frederick is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Mms.

Mms is wriggling around but Frederick manages to pass to half guard.

Frederick is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Mms tries to roll over but Frederick keeps him under control.

Mms is pressing down on Frederick's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
