Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Sig Farkenheil (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ted Dansen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sig Farkenheil!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ted Dansen!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloppy strikes from Dansen. Those never looked like landing.
Farkenheil is looking for a counter combo.
Dansen dives in and grabs Farkenheil's left leg, looking for a takedown. Farkenheil pushes down on Dansen's head and hops out.
Dansen shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Farkenheil sprawls well. Farkenheil wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Dansen gets slowly back to his feet.

Farkenheil drives through and clinches with Dansen against the cage.
Dansen drops down looking for an ankle pick but Farkenheil pulls his leg out and moves away.
Sig Farkenheil has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ted Dansen.
Farkenheil shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Dansen as he avoids it easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dansen tries to clinch there but Farkenheil circles away.
Dansen shoots in looking for a takedown. Farkenheil tries to sprawl out of it but Dansen keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Farkenheil manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Farkenheil moves into the clinch successfully.

Dansen is looking for a takedown.

Farkenheil gets control of Dansen's arms and successfully pulls guard. Farkenheil will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Farkenheil looking to hit a scissor sweep but Dansen is one step ahead there.
Dansen is looking to work some ground and pound but Farkenheil has wrist control.
Dansen with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Dansen slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Farkenheil.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Farkenheil wants to get back to full guard.

Dansen wants to take a breather but Farkenheil is having none of it.
Dansen has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Dansen winds up and cracks Farkenheil with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Dansen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Farkenheil keeps working.
Dansen wants to pass the guard but Farkenheil is defending well.
Dansen throws a strike but Farkenheil avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

Farkenheil is looking to sweep but instead, Dansen has passed into half guard.

Dansen wants to work for an arm triangle but Farkenheil is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Farkenheil trying to control but Dansen postures up.
Dansen wants to take a breather but Farkenheil is having none of it.
Farkenheil knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Dansen on the ground.
Farkenheil is looking for a sweep. Dansen is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Farkenheil is looking to get back to is feet but Dansen passes into side control.

Dansen decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Farkenheil clinches up against the cage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Dansen has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Dansen letting Farkenheil take a breather here.

Farkenheil breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Dansen shoots in for a takedown but Farkenheil shows good takedown defense.

Farkenheil drives through with a takedown into guard.

Dansen kicks Farkenheil off and gets to his feet.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Dansen stuffs the takedown.
Dansen tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Dansen fails to land the takedown.

Farkenheil closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Sig Farkenheil will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Farkenheil gets a clinch.
Farkenheil is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Dansen pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Farkenheil drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Farkenheil breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Dansen changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Farkenheil tries to avoid it but Dansen manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Farkenheil to the ground. Farkenheil escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Farkenheil shoots in for a takedown but Dansen shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sig Farkenheil. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Dansen is defended easily by Farkenheil.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dansen shoots in but Farkenheil avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Farkenheil appears to be looking for a big counter.

Dansen shoots in and bounces Farkenheil off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Farkenheil is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Dansen dives into side control.

Dansen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Farkenheil keeps working.

Farkenheil looking for a sweep but Dansen has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Farkenheil tries to lock up and control but Dansen gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Dansen landing strikes, looking to finish!
Farkenheil is wriggling around trying to escape.
Farkenheil tries to control Dansen's body but Dansen pushes him off. Farkenheil squirms to his side and now Dansen has his back!

Dansen wants to control but Farkenheil is keeping busy.

Dansen controlling the position well here. Farkenheil rolled but Dansen kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
Farkenheil is in bad spot here.
Farkenheil trying to get back to his feet but Dansen is in full control for now.
Dansen tries to get the hooks in deep but Farkenheil pushed the leg off.

Dansen thows a strike but Farkenheil uses the opportunity to reverse the position! Great move by Farkenheil as he ends up in Dansen 's guard!
Farkenheil has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Dansen is proving hard to escape from.

Farkenheil got a little sloppy there for a moment and Dansen has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Farkenheil has managed to get both his arms back between Dansen's legs - danger averted.
Farkenheil really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Farkenheil accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ted Dansen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!



Farkenheil clinches with his opponent.
Dansen tries to pull guard but Farkenheil forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Dansen is trying to drag Farkenheil to the mat but Farkenheil just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Dansen drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Farkenheil gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Sig Farkenheil has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ted Dansen.
Farkenheil changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Dansen fights it off and pushes away nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dansen tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Dansen is trying hard to land a takedown here. Farkenheil sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Horrible takedown attempt by Dansen or perhaps it was just good defense by Farkenheil, which made it look bad.
Dansen takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Farkenheil closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Dansen quickly recovers to half guard.
Farkenheil is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Farkenheil is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Dansen has managed to free his arm - good work.
Farkenheil throwing shots but Dansen is blocking nicely.
Farkenheil seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Farkenheil works his foot free and advances to mount.
Farkenheil trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Farkenheil jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Dansen is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Dansen and Farkenheil has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Dansen gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

Dansen kicks off Farkenheil and gets to his feet.
Dansen tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Farkenheil manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Farkenheil tries a head kick but it misses.
Sig Farkenheil is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Farkenheil fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Dansen fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Dansen with a poor takedown

and Farkenheil counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Dansen!
Dansen struggling a bit here.
Dansen wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land.
Dansen is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Farkenheil off and has taken his back!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Farkenheil looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
Dansen has the hooks in. Farkenheil is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Sig Farkenheil.
I think Farkenheil has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
