Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ace Centura (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Scott Watt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Centura's entrance music is Digital Summer - Just Run. A fine choice. Watt has chosen Edmund Fitzgerald as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Scott Watt has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ace Centura!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Scott Watt!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Centura avoids a punch combination nicely.
Watt tries to bum rush Centura with a series of wild strikes but Centura uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Centura tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Watt manages to circle out of the way.
Centura ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Watt moves away.
Centura throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Centura throws the kick towards the body but Watt avoids it.
Centura pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Centura throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Centura will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Centura takes a swing at Watt's ribcage but misses.

Centura takes the fight into the clinch.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Watt throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Nice elbow from Centura.

Watt breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Centura takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Centura throws a lazy right hand but Watt sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Watt bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Watt has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Watt misses with a left hand
and Centura counters with a nice leg kick.

Centura gets a clinch.
Watt with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
Centura is struggling to control the position.
Centura lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Stalling in the clinch from Centura.
Centura pushes off an throws an elbow but Watt leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Centura has Watt pressed against the cage, preventing Watt from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Centura tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Watt connects with a knee to the head.
Watt crunches a lovely knee into Centura's ribcage.

Watt breaks from the clinch.
Centura takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Centura throws a sloppy head kick and Watt moves out of range easily.

Centura fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Watt, pushing him back against the cage.
Watt pushes off an throws an elbow but Centura leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

The referee calls for Centura to work.
Centura gets a warning from the ref for wasting time.
Centura using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Watt has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Watt's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Watt throws a shot from downtown. Centura moves away and avoids it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Centura on the wrong end of a nice hook.


Centura is rocked!
Watt lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Centura up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Watt from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Centura's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:12 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Scott Watt!
