PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Der Debil (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steel Penn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Debil comes into the arena with Bulimic blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Steel Penn!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Chris Saunders and Colin Fray.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Penn moves out of range of the leg kick from Debil.
Penn throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Debil's head.

It looks like Der Debil has been cut.

Debil drives through with a takedown into guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Debil accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Penn preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Debil working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Penn's head.
Penn really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Debil. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Debil keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Penn's head.
Debil working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Debil working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Penn's head.
Debil stands and throws Penn's legs to the side, diving into side control.
The ground and pound from Debil seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Penn is trying to get back to his feet.
Debil scores with punches from side control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A lull in the action here as Debil stalls from top position.
Debil trying to control the position but Penn is working away.
Debil connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Penn some visible discomfort.
Sloppy strikes there by Debil.

Debil is working to tighten his grip on Penn's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Penn has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Debil is really squeezing tight and eventually Penn passes out! Debil breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
