PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nichi Hong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jordin Tootoo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hong's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Hong Entrance Song. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hong fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Tootoo sprawls well initially but Hong persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Tootoo regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Hong.
Hong throws a strike but Tootoo rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Tootoo decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Hong definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Hong looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Tootoo is fending him off so far but Hong persists. Nope, Tootoo circles away and we're back to standing.
