Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Darren Regal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Quon Shum (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Regal comes to the cage accompanied by A real mans man's man. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Darren Regal!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Quon Shum!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Russell Pearce and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Regal shoots in and bounces Shum off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Regal with a flurry of punches that miss.
Regal in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Shum avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Regal throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Shum works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Regal stays in close to Shum's body and controls the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Regal drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Regal jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Regal is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Shum has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Ganja Paradise. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

and Shum cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Regal tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Shum defends well and Regal ends up having to push Shum into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Horrible takedown attempt by Regal or perhaps it was just good defense by Shum, which made it look bad.
Shum swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.

Regal feints and as Shum raises his hands in defense, Regal changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Regal postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Shum looking to hit a scissor sweep but Regal is one step ahead there.
Shum preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Regal's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Shum wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Shum sends Regal crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Shum is motioning to the referee to let Regal up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

and Shum rattles Regal with a well-timed uppercut counter. - Regal tries to back away and recover but his hands are down low and he gets tagged again, sending him stumbling down to the canvas. Shum dives in after him and quickly finishes the job with a trio of brutal punches, leaving Regal stiff and motionless on the mat!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:42 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Quon Shum!
Quon Shum really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Voodoo Nutrition logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
