The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Evans tries to score a power double leg takedown but Lahey sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Evans somewhat.

Evans shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Lahey is trying to defend but Evans finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Lahey makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Evans shoots for a takedown but Lahey saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Lahey throws out a counter right but Evans avoids it with no problem.
Lahey misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
