Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jake Wrigley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Alex Reynolds!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Micheangelo Fripello and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wrigley with a lazy takedown attempt
and Reynolds counters with a three punch combo that has Wrigley backing up. Wrigley nods at Reynolds to acknowledge the strikes.
Wrigley fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Wrigley wants to clinch up but Reynolds keeps it at a distance.
Reynolds unleashes a big counter combination but Wrigley bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

Wrigley gets a takedown into half guard.

Reynolds has one foot on Wrigley's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Wrigley tries for a takedown but Reynolds sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jake Wrigley. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Reynolds blocks an elbow strike from Wrigley.

Wrigley misses with a punch to the body.

Wrigley breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Reynolds misses with a two punch combination.
Wrigley tries to close the distance and clinch but Reynolds swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Wrigley tries to score a power double leg takedown but Reynolds sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Wrigley somewhat.
Wrigley has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Reynolds.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Wrigley looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Reynolds stuffs the takedown.
Wrigley misses with a takedown attempt - Reynolds sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Reynolds keeps the fight on the outside.
Despite the aggression on Reynolds's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Reynolds shoots in looking for a takedown. Wrigley tries to sprawl out of it but Reynolds keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Wrigley manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Wrigley tries to score a power double leg takedown but Reynolds sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Wrigley somewhat.

Reynolds has a takedown stuffed.
Wrigley moves out of range as Reynolds throws a body kick.
Wrigley is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Reynolds.

Wrigley manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Reynolds on his heels. He'll look to pass Reynolds's guard now, I'm sure.
Reynolds manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Wrigley manages to get himself to full guard.

Reynolds pushing down on Wrigley's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Reynolds is thwarting Wrigley's attempts to control the position.
Reynolds throwing shots but Wrigley is blocking nicely.

Reynolds is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Wrigley has managed to free his arm - good work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wrigley is looking to escape.

Wrigley is defending against the submission attempts here by Reynolds.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Wrigley keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Reynolds has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Wrigley defend it? Reynolds steps over the head and cranks it - Wrigley is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Reynolds!
