Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Douglass Henderson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Chuck Liddell!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Hugh Johnson and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Liddell lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Henderson backs up against the cage.


It looks like Douglass Henderson has been cut.
Henderson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Liddell avoids it really well and circles away.

Liddell closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Henderson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Liddell gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Liddell stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Henderson swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Henderson is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Liddell defends well.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Henderson throws his legs up looking for a submission but Liddell uses it to pass to side control.
Henderson managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Liddell.
Henderson tries to bench press Liddell off him but Liddell keeps the position.

Liddell decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Liddell clinches up against the cage.
Liddell misses with a hook to the ribs.

Liddell drags the fight down to the ground.

Liddell wants to stand but Henderson is controlling the position.
Liddell looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Henderson puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Henderson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Liddell is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Liddell closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Henderson quickly recovers to half guard.

Henderson manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Liddell keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
Liddell avoids a wild elbow strike from Henderson.

Liddell gets control of Henderson's arms and successfully pulls guard. Liddell will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Henderson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Henderson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Henderson is fighting to break Liddell's control of his arms but Liddell is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Chuck Liddell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Henderson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Liddell swats him away and circles back towards the center.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Henderson enables Liddell to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Henderson manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Liddell got a little sloppy there for a moment and Henderson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Liddell has managed to get both his arms back between Henderson's legs - danger averted.

Liddell postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Liddell avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Henderson is working an open guard so Liddell takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Henderson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Liddell can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Henderson sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Henderson is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Liddell.
Douglass Henderson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Chuck Liddell is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Liddell closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Henderson's guard.

And that's the end of the fight!

Well Liddell has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
