PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Fib Dibwibbler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ole Svensson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dibwibbler comes to the cage accompanied by Ready to Die- Andrew WK. Svensson comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Fever Ray -If I had a heart kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Fib Dibwibbler!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ole Svensson!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Russell Pearce and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dibwibbler with a jab.


It looks like Ole Svensson has been cut.
Dibwibbler misses with a double jab.
Dibwibbler throws a leg kick which misses Svensson's front leg but catches the back leg as Svensson tries to avoid it.
Dibwibbler dips to his left and cracks Svensson with an uppercut!
Svensson showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Dibwibbler.
Dibwibbler connects with a good right hand that stumbles Svensson. Svensson circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Dibwibbler dodges the punch combination from Svensson.
Dibwibbler moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Dibwibbler goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Svensson throws a body punch but Dibwibbler moves out of range.
Sloppy strikes from Svensson. Those never looked like landing.
Dibwibbler misses the jab.
Dibwibbler misses with a jab to the body
and Svensson makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Dibwibbler throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Svensson has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Svensson shoots for a double leg takedown but Dibwibbler sprawls well. He's pushed Svensson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
As Svensson looks to move away, Dibwibbler throws a big counter combo but Svensson just gets out of the way.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A jab lands there for Dibwibbler.
Dibwibbler pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Dibwibbler takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Dibwibbler scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Svensson doesn't seem bothered though.
Horrible takedown attempt by Svensson or perhaps it was just good defense by Dibwibbler, which made it look bad.
A looping hook to the body misses from Dibwibbler. Svensson does a little dance to reset his feet.
Dibwibbler lunges at Svensson with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Svensson's hand.
Svensson feints a jab promting Dibwibbler to slip. Svensson then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Dibwibbler slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.


It looks like Fib Dibwibbler has been cut.

Svensson shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Dibwibbler napping and manages to drive through into side control!
This has been an exciting period of action!
The ground and pound from Svensson seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Svensson working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Svensson throws an elbow but Dibwibbler slips to the side and avoids it well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Svensson is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Dibwibbler knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Svensson tries for a kimura but Dibwibbler is defending well.
Svensson slows the pace down.

Svensson wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Dibwibbler, who protects the arm well.
The ground and pound from Svensson seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Svensson has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
A looping hook to the body misses from Dibwibbler. Svensson does a little dance to reset his feet.
Svensson doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Svensson takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Dibwibbler swinging wildly here.
Dibwibbler throws a low kick but Svensson avoids it.
A jab from Svensson finds it's way through Dibwibbler's defenses.
Svensson lands an overhand right.

Svensson dives in and scores a takedown into Dibwibbler's guard.

Dibwibbler is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Svensson controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Svensson trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Svensson decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Dibwibbler, up you get!
Dibwibbler misses with a few strikes there.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Svensson works over Dibwibbler's head and body with a nice combination.
Svensson shoots for a takedown but Dibwibbler saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Fib Dibwibbler has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ole Svensson.

Svensson throws an overhand right that lands on Dibwibbler's shoulder, as Dibwibbler tries to avoid the shot.

Svensson looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Dibwibbler!

Dibwibbler bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
Svensson throws a right and a left that both miss.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Fib Dibwibbler will probably get the nod.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Svensson closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Dibwibbler quickly recovers to half guard.
Dibwibbler keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Svensson seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Svensson is looking to take a break and control but Dibwibbler is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Svensson is working for a kimura but Dibwibbler is defending it quite comfortably.

Svensson is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Dibwibbler sees it coming and defends easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Dibwibbler wants to get back to his feet.
Dibwibbler avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Svensson.

Svensson decides to stand up.
Svensson scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Svensson takes a swing at Dibwibbler's ribcage but misses.
Dibwibbler throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Svensson ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Dibwibbler seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Svensson shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Dibwibbler is backing up but Svensson catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Dibwibbler covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Svensson Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:47 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ole Svensson!
A relieved looking Ole Svensson thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
