Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tommy Mayor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ole Solseng (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Solseng is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Mama Said Knock You Out. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Ole Solseng was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Solseng fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Mayor checks it well.

Ole Solseng seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Solseng throws a left and a right that both miss
and Mayor counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Solseng fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Mayor has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Solseng bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Mayor throws a right and a left that Solseng avoids nicely.
Mayor moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
A punch combination from Solseng misses.
Solseng throws a big shot that misses.
Mayor moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Solseng on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Solseng tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Solseng swings for the body but Mayor moves out of range.
Mayor fires out a quick counter leg kick but Solseng just manages to avoid it.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Mayor crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Solseng - the referee stops the clock and Mayor gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Solseng. Mayor manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Good leg kick by Solseng there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Solseng throws a nice looking combination but Mayor bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Tommy Mayor will probably get the nod.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Mayor takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Mayor keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Mayor throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Solseng throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Solseng sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Tommy Mayor is winning the standup battle so far.
Solseng takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Solseng's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Solseng avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Mayor's corner calls for a 1-2. Mayor obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Mayor jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Solseng works Mayor's body with a nice hook.
Mayor walks into a jab.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Mayor lands a big right hand that sends Solseng crashing to the mat! Mayor stays standing though and waves Solseng back to his feet!

Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with eachother but Solseng might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Mayor has got the better of the exchanges.
Both fighters step back and shake their arms out. Mayor engages and cracks Solseng with a massive lead left hook - Solseng tumbles to the floor, out cold! What a shot! Mayor is delighted - all that hard work in training paid off!
