Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jake Obrien!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Luke Baka!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Summer Carpenter and Ben Hemmingworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Obrien bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Baka can't do much from the bottom here.
Baka throws a couple of strikes there.
Baka is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Obrien working away.
Obrien knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Baka on the ground.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Baka manages to get back to half guard.
Baka is trying to control but can't.
Baka might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Obrien haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Obrien wants to lay and pray for a moment but Baka keeps working.

Baka wants to control but Obrien is keeping busy.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Baka is doing well to control the position and prevent Obrien from advancing to side control.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Baka drives through with a takedown into Obrien's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Obrien is trying to control the position but Baka postures up.

Baka decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Baka manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Baka wants to stand up but Obrien is controlling him.
Baka utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Baka is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Baka seems keen to control Obrien's posture.
Baka preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Baka has control of Obrien's left arm, preventing Obrien from doing any damage.
Obrien really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Baka is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Obrien is controlling him.
Baka is pulling down on Obrien's head. It's preventing any offense from Obrien, at least for the moment.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Baka wants to stand and escape but Obrien is having none of it.

Obrien avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Obrien tries to stand but Baka is controlling from the bottom.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Obrien stands up and waves to Baka to follow him.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Baka is looking to clinch.
Baka avoids the head kick by Obrien.
Baka tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Obrien makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Baka really felt that one!

Baka throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Obrien was covering up waiting for the punch and Baka finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Baka drops back looking for a leg! Obrien is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Obrien manages to kick Baka off! Baka jumps back into Obrien's guard.
Baka cracks Obrien with a solid left hand.
Baka passes Obrien's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Baka slows the pace down in half guard.
Baka scoring with strikes to the body and head.
The fighters are battling for position here. Obrien manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Baka works over Obrien with some ground and pound from guard.

Baka content to stall in guard here.
Obrien is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Baka is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Baka in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Baka pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Obrien is keeping the position for now.
Baka wants to stand but Obrien has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Obrien controls Baka momentarily but Baka frees himself.
Baka lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Baka is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Baka stays in close to Obrien's body and controls the position.
Obrien pulls Baka in close to prevent any damage.
Obrien looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Obrien is rocked!
Baka scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Oh Obrien is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Baka content to stall in guard here.
Baka gets to his feet and stands over Obrien, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Obrien felt that one! Baka unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Obrien from any more punishment!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:28 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Luke Baka!
