The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Yves DeLean and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gatti is looking to slow Von Boom down with leg kicks.
Von Boom throws a hook but Gatti blocks it.
Gatti stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Von Boom.

and Gatti decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Von Boom's guard.

Gatti is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Von Boom doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Gatti.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Gatti takes a little break here. Von Boom wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Gatti is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Von Boom is just riding it out for now. Gatti eventually gives up the hold.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Von Boom has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

Gatti throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Von Boom's waist but Von Boom gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gatti off to one side.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Gatti goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Von Boom has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Gatti but great work by Von Boom.

Leonel Gatti showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Gatti jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Von Boom is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Von Boom and Gatti has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Von Boom trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
Von Boom seems a little lost for a moment, as Gatti dominates the positioning.
Gatti tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Gatti has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Von Boom can't do much from the bottom here.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Well Gatti has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
