Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Smokey McSmokesalot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ali Aliev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Aliev has chosen Lezginka as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Smokey McSmokesalot had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McSmokesalot shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Aliev sprawls well. Aliev wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. McSmokesalot gets slowly back to his feet.

As McSmokesalot backs off Aliev throws a huge counter combo but McSmokesalot manages to avoid it all.

Aliev really doesn't want to stay on the ground with McSmokesalot. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

McSmokesalot is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Aliev can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

We've been hearing good reports from McSmokesalot's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
