PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Vinny Vinicius (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Petr Smirnov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vinicius comes to the cage accompanied by Vicious. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Petr Smirnov was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Vinicius closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Smirnov to the mat! Smirnov manages to get full guard.
Smirnov looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Vinicius moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Smirnov has worked his arm free - good work by Smirnov!

Smirnov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Vinicius. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Vinicius goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Smirnov has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Vinicius but great work by Smirnov.

Vinicius bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Smirnov's guard.

Vinicius closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Smirnov is defending against the submission attempts here by Vinicius.

Vinicius is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Smirnov defends it well.

Vinicius is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Smirnov doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Vinicius.

Vinicius postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Smirnov to stand up.

Smirnov fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Vinicius to the ground. Smirnov is now in Vinicius's guard.
Vinicius is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
