PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between The Aristoteles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phil High (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Phil High was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Phil High!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Alec Ball and Dillan Fox.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A big right from Aristoteles misses.
A left lands for High.
Aristoteles tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but High was well out of range. Poor timing from Aristoteles.
A little jabbing left from High on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
High scores with a leg kick.
Aristoteles misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from High.
High scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Aristoteles doesn't seem bothered though.

Aristoteles tries to land a front kick but High steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Nice uppercut lands for High. That snapped Aristoteles's head back.
High takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
A jab lands there for High.

High throws a right hand that misses
and Aristoteles counters with a nice body shot.
High lands a lovely overhand right.
A head kick misses from Aristoteles.
Aristoteles misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Aristoteles takes one to the side of the head.
Aristoteles throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
High swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Aristoteles keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Aristoteles fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt High.
Aristoteles throws a body shot but no joy.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that High has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Some bone on bone action there as High checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Aristoteles escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Aristoteles lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but High circles away quickly and effectively.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Aristoteles scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Aristoteles throws a sloppy head kick and High moves out of range easily.
Aristoteles lands a jab to the head.
High works the jab nicely.
High gets cracked there but stands up to it.
High throws out a powerful jab.
Aristoteles tries a head kick but it misses.
Aristoteles tries to move into range but High moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Aristoteles misses the shot to the body.
High has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Aristoteles finds it's way round the side to connect with High's head.
High slips under a jab.
Aristoteles backing away here, and High unleashes a leg kick that just misses.
High shoots in but Aristoteles avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Aristoteles was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Aristoteles wants to slow High down by chopping away at his legs.

High throws a quick inside leg kick.
Aristoteles comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Aristoteles throws a sloppy head kick and High moves out of range easily.

Aristoteles takes a swing at High's ribcage but misses.
Aristoteles is looking to wear down High with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Aristoteles misses with a looping right.
The Aristoteles seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Aristoteles takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Aristoteles throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Aristoteles.
High just misses with a punch to the body.
Aristoteles throws a head kick but High moves out of range.
High is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
High is looking to slow Aristoteles down with leg kicks.

High moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

High stuns Aristoteles with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
High tests Aristoteles's chin there with a solid looking shot.

A looping hook to the body misses from Aristoteles. High does a little dance to reset his feet.

and Aristoteles counters with a nice right hand that sends High toppling to the canvas! High scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Aristoteles finish him?!

High is rocked!
Aristoteles throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent High stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
High is still on wobbly legs! Can Aristoteles finish him?
High looks winded!
Aristoteles turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Aristoteles connects with a picture perfect right hand that knocks High out cold! This one is over in a flash!
