Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Abu Papu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mateus Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Papu kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is abu theme. Gracie has chosen Broke & Hungry as his entrance music. Abu Papu has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Papu avoids the body shot from Gracie.

and Papu counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Gracie fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Papu.
Papu seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Papu steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Gracie.
Gracie misses with a left hand
and Papu counters with a two punch combo.

Gracie tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Papu paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Papu swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Gracie takes a swing at Papu's ribcage but misses.
A quick step to the side and Papu tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Papu pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Gracie shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Papu napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Gracie throws a strike aimed at the side of Papu's head but Papu avoids it well.
Gracie throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Papu works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.

Gracie lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Gracie working his ground and pound in the gym.
Gracie trying to control from Papu's half guard. Papu has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
Gracie postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Gracie has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Gracie drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Papu manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Gracie has Papu in his guard.

Papu is posturing up here but Gracie has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Papu tries to roll out but it's too tight and Papu has to tap! Slick submission there by Gracie!
