The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mathis throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Boon's waist but Boon gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mathis off to one side.
William Boon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Mathis closes the distance and clinches.

Mathis pulls guard successfully.

Boon is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Boon drops back looking for a leg! Mathis is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Mathis manages to kick Boon off! Boon jumps back into Mathis's guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Boon is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Mathis is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Mathis has escaped and now he's on top!

Boon has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Mathis can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Mathis would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Boon has his feet on Mathis's thighs here. He's pushed Mathis off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Mathis screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!

A relieved looking William Boon thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
