Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Lamar Page (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bobby Lace (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lamar Page has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Lamar Page!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Bobby Lace!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Ryoma Takatsuka and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lace thuds his shin into the meat of Page's side.
Lace fails with the takedown

and Page counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Page.

Page is trying to trip Lace. He has hold of a leg but Lace is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Page persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Page stands and steps away. Lace gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Lace clinches up against the cage.

Page decides to pull guard.
Page has his hands on Lace's head, controlling the position.
Lace trying to control but Page is working from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Page is on top in guard.

Lace looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Page puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Lace is trying to get back to full guard.
Page performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Lace trying to hold on to Page's head to control him but Page postures up.
Page not doing much here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Lace wants to improve his position but Page is controlling well.
Lace is looking to get back to full guard here but Page has managed to pass to side control instead.
Lace seems a little lost for a moment, as Page dominates the positioning.
You can see the frustration on Lace's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Page has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Lace throws a head kick that misses

and Page holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Page lands an elbow just above Lace 's eye.

Lace breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Lace moves into the clinch.
Page drops down looking for an ankle pick but Lace pulls his leg out and moves away.
Lace doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Lace takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Lace rushes Page and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Page works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

Page stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Lace fails to land the takedown.
Lamar Page has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bobby Lace.
Page connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Lace closes the distance and clinches.
Lace has had enough of the clinch but Page keeps him there for the moment.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Lace looking for a takedown.
Lace trying to control the position but instead, Page has worked for underhooks and has pushed Lace into the cage.
Lace is working for takedown but Page is calmly controlling the position for now.

Lace tries to score a body lock takedown but Page shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Page turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Page manages to end up in side control.
Lace is trying to improve his position.

Page decides to stand up, so the ref orders Lace to his feet.
Bobby Lace seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lace avoids the head kick by Page.
Page could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lace clinches up against the cage.
Lace wants to stall.
A knee to the head by Page.

Page landing knees to the head.

Page wants the takedown. Lace is fighting it off but Page persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Lace's guard against the cage.
Page stops Lace from standing up.

Page stands up from Lace's guard - Page perhaps looking for a knockout.
Page is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Lace can do to turn this around?

Lace forces Page back against the cage and clinches.
Page taking a break, stalling in the clinch.

Page gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Lace is wriggling around but Page manages to pass to half guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Page stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Lace to get to his feet.

Lace stalling in the clinch but Page improves position.

Lace tries to circle away but Page has him pinned against the cage.

Page has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Lace regains guard immediately.
Page content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Lamar Page overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Page is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Lace is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Lace has escaped and now he's on top!

Page tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Lace defends well and Page ends up having to push Lace into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Lace swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Page counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Page.
Page jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Lace walks away with a smile on his face. Page gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Page tries a head kick but it misses.
Lace tries to counter by closing the distance.
Lace misses with an attempted mid kick.
Lace checks the leg kick.
Page fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Lace.
Lace tries for a takedown but Page circles away easily
and Page counters with a stiff right hand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lace keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Lace darts in looking for a takedown but Page gets double underhooks and turns Lace into the cage.
Page went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

Lace has closed the distance and engaged Page in a clinch.
Page dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.

Page gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Page performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Lace trying to hold on to Page's head to control him but Page postures up.

Page is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Lace is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Page controlling the action here.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Page seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Lace throws a head kick that Page semi-blocks.
Lace darts in looking for a takedown but Page gets double underhooks and turns Lace into the cage.
Lamar Page has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bobby Lace.
Lace throws a nice looking combination but Page bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Page is looking for a counter combo.
A jab from Lace misses.
Page is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Lace.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Bobby Lace has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Lamar Page is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Lace changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Page fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Lace tries to land a body kick
and Page counters with a leg kick.

Lamar Page showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Page, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
