Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Calvin Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Valmer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Calvin Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jimmy Valmer!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Gwen Towbar and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Valmer stuffs the takedown attempt from Jones. Jones gets slowly back to his feet.
Jones shoots in for a double leg but Valmer sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
And Valmer tries to counter it with a takedown but Jones pushes his down on his head and steps out.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Valmer's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jones looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Valmer is fighting to break Jones's control of his arms but Jones is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Jones changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Valmer looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Valmer can do anything to dispel that myth.
Valmer wants to get back to his feet but Jones drags him back down.
Valmer is looking to reverse the position.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Jones is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Valmer is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Valmer parries the strikes from Jones easily there. Jones is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Valmer to escape.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Valmer is working to avoid the ground and pound but Jones connects with a decent elbow.
Valmer tries to bench press Jones off him but Jones keeps the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Valmer ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Jones shoots in looking for a takedown. Valmer tries to sprawl out of it but Jones keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Valmer manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Jones regains half guard, as Valmer was trying to land strikes.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Valmer connects with a nice short shot to Jones's temple.
Valmer looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Jones with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Valmer has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Valmer seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Jones does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Valmer is stalling here. Jones is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Valmer seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Jones has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
You can see the frustration on Valmer's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The strikes coming from Jones are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Jones has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

Well Valmer has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
