The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Erwin looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Kasady closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

It looks like Kasady might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Kasady goes for a double leg but Erwin avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Erwin continues to drive forward.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Erwin enables Kasady to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Erwin manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Cletus Kasady decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
