Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Steve Smith and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams throws a right and a left that Marquez avoids nicely.
Marquez goes for a double leg but Williams avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Williams continues to drive forward.
Marquez closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Williams quickly recovers to half guard.
Marquez stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Marquez fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Marquez really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Williams lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Williams throws a nice looking combination but Marquez bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Williams stuffs the takedown attempt from Marquez. Marquez gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vern Marquez. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Williams lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

and Marquez counters with a two punch combo.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Williams lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Marquez circles away quickly and effectively.
It looked like Marquez was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Marquez shoots in looking for a takedown but Williams manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Marquez's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Marquez changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Williams tries to avoid it but Marquez manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Williams to the ground. Williams escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Marquez avoids a punch combination nicely.
Steve Williams seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Williams misses with a few strikes there.
Williams throws a right hand that Marquez ducks under and follows up with a left that Marquez also avoids with ease.
Marquez seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Williams will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
A cross from Williams lands.
Williams moves into the clinch.
Marquez trying to control the position but instead, Williams has worked for underhooks and has pushed Marquez into the cage.
Marquez jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Williams walks away with a smile on his face. Marquez gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Marquez takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Williams throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Williams pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Marquez is looking for a counter combo.
Williams throws a leg kick but Marquez sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Williams cracks Marquez with an open hand slap.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Williams throws a combination. Marquez tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Williams closes the distance and pushes Marquez back into the cage.
Williams has had enough of the clinch but Marquez keeps him there for the moment.
Marquez is trying to pull guard but Williams has him pressed against the cage.

Marquez tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Williams just stands there and leans against the cage.
Marquez goes for a takedown in the clinch but Williams prevents it.
Marquez jumps guard but Williams turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Marquez tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Williams smiles and moves away.
Steve Williams is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
The fight moves into the clinch position.
Marquez has Williams pressed against the cage, preventing Williams from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Marquez fails to pull guard.
Marquez jumps guard but Williams turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Marquez breaks from the clinch.
Marquez shoots in but Williams avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Marquez is breathing heavily.
Williams swats away the attempt to clinch by Marquez.
Marquez gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Williams moves into the clinch successfully.
Marquez breaks from the clinch.
No joy there for Williams, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Steve Williams dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Williams scores with a three punch combo!
Marquez is still looking wobbly from the end of the last round!
It looks like Vern Marquez has been cut.
Williams lands with a right and another and another! Marquez is in big trouble! Williams lands again and this time it's lights out for Marquez! A quality knockout there for Williams.
