Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mario Matiss (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oscar Knockout (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
25 - 18 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mario Matiss!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
21 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Oscar Knockout!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matiss moves out of range of the body kick from Knockout.
Matiss scores with a jab to the jaw.
Matiss fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Matiss misses with a kick to the body
and Matiss takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Knockout misses with an uppercut. Matiss saw that one coming.
Matiss tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Knockout manages to circle out of the way.
Knockout with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Matiss to score with a decent uppercut.
It looks like Oscar Knockout has been cut.
Knockout takes one on the button.
Matiss tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Matiss dips to his left and cracks Knockout with an uppercut!

Matiss scores with a jab. Knockout acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Matiss uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Knockout.
Knockout on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
The fighters circling - Knockout throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Matiss throws a leg kick but Knockout moved away.

Matiss avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Matiss seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Knockout checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Matiss misses the body punch
and Knockout counters with a three punch combo that has Matiss backing up. Matiss nods at Knockout to acknowledge the strikes.
Knockout slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Matiss is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Knockout walks into a stiff left hand from Matiss.
Matiss scores with a head kick. Knockout tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Matiss fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Knockout.
Knockout tests Matiss's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Matiss lands a nice leg kick that just misses Knockout's sensitive parts.

Knockout thows a leg kick but Matiss checks it
letting Matiss counter with a right hand.
Knockout works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Matiss slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Matiss throws a quick inside leg kick.
Knockout jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Matiss tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Knockout is able to avoid easily.
Matiss defending well as Knockout loads up on a big left hand.
Matiss appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.
Matiss throws a right and a left that Knockout avoids nicely.

Matiss cracks Knockout with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Knockout has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Knockout lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Matiss moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Matiss misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Knockout connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Knockout avoids the head kick by Matiss.
Matiss lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Matiss motions for Knockout to come forward. Matiss throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Knockout throws a right and a left that Matiss avoids nicely.
Matiss misses with the body kick
and Knockout counters with a lovely straight right hand!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Matiss tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Knockout paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Matiss fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Knockout has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Knockout darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Matiss checks a leg kick.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Knockout crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Matiss - the referee stops the clock and Knockout gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Matiss. Knockout manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Knockout looks to throw the jab but Matiss is out of range.
Knockout thuds his right hand into Matiss's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Knockout moves into range and connects with a jab.
Matiss is rocked!
Knockout throws a sloppy head kick and Matiss moves out of range easily.
Oh Matiss is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Matiss finds himself stumbling back on wobbly legs after being clipped by a right hand. He's up against the cage, ducking and weaving under Knockout's strikes but an uppercut finds it's way through and Matiss falls! - He's completely out of it and the ref jumps in to save him!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Oscar Knockout!
